Dr. Dawn McClellan graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1990. From 1990-1992 she served as a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service in North Dakota with the Chippewa Indians. After volunteering in Kenya, Africa for 6 months, Dr. McClellan completed the specialty program in pediatric dentistry at The Ohio State University from 1993-1995. From 1995-1997 she practiced in Saudi Arabia. She moved to Las Vegas in 1998, entered private practice and in 2001 co-founded Dental Care International. DCI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides primary dental care for the underserved in Las Vegas, Ecuador, and Sri Lanka. Since its inception, DCI has provided over $6,000,000 in charitable dental services.
Since 1987 Dr. McClellan has traveled to all 7 continents and 75 countries. Dentistry has taken her from an AIDS orphanage in the Bahamas to young soldiers caught in a civil war in Somalia, from children born in refugee camps in Sri Lanka to forgotten urban poor in the ghettos of India, and from isolated tribes in rural western Kenya to the deserts of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. McClellan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Nevada Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
